Where do you want to go ?
Rimatara is surrounded by a coral reef and has a shallow lagoon with a unique pass through which only canoes can enter. Nature is still virgin there and ornithology lovers will discover a unique species: the Khul Ura or Lori with its shimmering plumage.
Rimatara has three villages: Amaru, Anapoto, and Mutuaura, which live from agriculture and weaving. Three times a month, the cargo ship Tuhaa Pae II unloads passengers and goods on the island using small boats. Rimatara has no shops or restaurants, but remains a welcoming and warm little haven of peace.
This island can be discovered through visits to archaeological sites, excursions on the motu and hiking. Rimatara is a tranquil refuge for the adventurer in everyone.
