Ua Pou is certainly the most endearing Marquesas island. Smaller and less crowded than Nuku Hiva and Hiva Oa, it welcomes you by offering you a view of Mont Oave peaking at 1,230 m and surrounded by three basalt columns forming a veritable crown of stone

Located 35 km / 22 miles south of Nuku Hiva, the island is served several times a week by a Twin Otter Air Tahiti. Pension Pukuee is the only hotel on the island. It offers comfortable accommodation and great views over the bay of Hakahau. It is an ideal starting point for hiking in the Valley of the King, a 4x4 safari, a horse ride or an unforgettable fishing tour.
In Ua Pou you will also be in the heart of Marquesan culture. You will meet sculptors, tattoo artists but also dancers and singers with traditional knowledges.
