Elin and Viriamu will be delighted to help you discover the richness and beauty of the island of Rurutu in the Australs Achipelago, located more than 500km south of Tahiti, lost in the middle of the Pacific, far from the usual circuits. You will find calm and a very Polynesian way of life. Agriculture (taro cultivation, pig breeding), fishing and traditional crafts (especially Pandanus weaving) remain the basis of the island's economic activity.
Located near a "Marae" named TARAROA (sacred place and archaeological site), Rurutu's royal family heirloom, the Pension Teautamatea is a large house with 3 rooms and a private bathroom. They are decorated in a very original way with local materials such as bamboo, pandanus, coral and "peue" (braided pandanus mat). The large terrace or the dining room will allow you to enjoy a rich and varied cuisine based on local products. A beautiful white sand beach is just in front of the guesthouse and promises moments of contemplation in front of beautiful sunsets.
